Proctor Cemetery Project

Posted by Ninety Six Historical Society on October 1, 2011 at 9:45 AM

Thanks to the mulitple volunteers and organizations that made our project possible!  Mr. Aden Rowley had a vision, and that vision was completed. When I first contacted Mr. Rowley in August about restoring the cemetery, I had no idea that this would become such a heartwarming project. Mr. Rowleys dedication to his wife and his cause, were unmatched. A special Thank you to Mr. Riv Temple, Youth Group Leader of Temple Baptist Church. Without his efforts and contacts I don't think we could have completed this task with the swiftness of the day. With so many to thank for such tremendous efforts put forth, please be sure to see the Index-Journals complete list of names and companies. Five new headstones have been discovered and a diagram of the cemetery has been completed. Family names included are Burnett, Bullock, Holloway, Parkman, King, Smith, Polatty and Martin. For additonal information on the families, please email your requests.
