Living History Saturdays at Ninety Six National Historic Site

(Ninety Six, SC) Have you ever wondered what it was like to live in the Carolina backcountry during the American Revolution? Find out by traveling back in time to encounter the small community that grew at the crossroads of Old Ninety Six. Throughout the summer, uncover your history at Living History Days held on the third Saturday of each month starting on Saturday, May 19, 2012 through September. Come and experience what life is like in Colonial times at the Ninety Six National Historic Site located just outside of the city of Greenwood, South Carolina.

Activities will include living historians displaying their Colonial and Revolutionary War skills around the Black Swan Tavern from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. Bring your family and take part in the activities. Guided tours will occur at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Check in at the Visitor Center for details. All activities are free. Programs are subject to cancellation.

Visitors are encouraged to come to each program because different living history skills and demonstrations are displayed. Living History Days will be held on Saturdays May 19, June 16, July 21, August 18, and September 15, 2012.

The Park features two Revolutionary War battlefields, the original 1781 Star Fort, log cabin, museum, twenty minute interpretive film, bookstore, small picnic area, and several miles of trails. Come spend the day discovering Ninety Six National Historic Site. The Park is located 2 miles south of the town of Ninety Six on Highway 248.
